On Friday the State council of the Republic of Tatarstan will choose the first half of the stuff of the Public Chamber of the the Republic of Tatarstan. 102 public organizations from 1260 registered in Tatarstan pretend to this 25 Chamber places. The second half of the Chamber forms the President according to the law, there are many claims for it in Kremlin now, but Mintimer Shaymiyev will determine his part only at the end of December.

By presenting their claims, our public organizations showed the main merit needed for the work in the Public Chamber (an institution, which does not influence the real power, but just consults it), namely the praiseworthy ability for self-restriction. Only five organizations were enterprising and tried to peg some places for their members both in the Parliament`s allocation and in the President`s one - most organizations applied only once.

To say the truth, on this point people prominent in public life exhausted their potentialities in self-organization and in taking each other`s interests into account. Evidently the State Council hinted to them, that it would be fine to nominate some common candidates from several organizations for election, these persons were probably intractable. The trade union of the public health service`s workers applied separately from the trade union of textile-workers, the textile-workers did not find a common candidate with postal workers, the trade union of machinists - with the trade union committee of "Tatneft"(Tatarstan Oil). On the whole, according to the question, who should personally represent the interests of workers in the Public Chamber, the trade unions showed such fundamental inflexibility, which they should better show to their employers.

What is to wait from the employers themselves then... Five public organizations of the small- and middle-scale businessmen, which names you could hardly recognize, nominated five different candidates for the place in the Public Chamber. "Businesswomen" personally did not concurred with simply "Women". The Protection of consumers Fund applied separately from The Consumers` society. Two organizations of the disabled Afghanistan war veterans nominated two different candidates, the Invalids` society nominated the third, and the Society of the blind invalids - the fourth... And the Kazan cynology center competes with the Zelenodolsk Dogs-breeding club for the right to "Sit".

It looks most logical, that three public organizations of the oriental wrestling styles` fans aspire for a place in the Chamber separately. Could you imagine, what would happen, if the disciples of aikido-aikiikai would try to settle the question themselves with the BUDO Fund (children and youth Karate) and International alliance of Bugitsu (the favorite wrestling art of Doctor Moriarty, with the help of which he almost finished Sherlock Holmes)?.. Let the State Council decide between them.

The best known persons, pretending for places in the Public Chamber, in the list of the State Council are the rector of the Tatar Institute of Buisiness Assistance Nella Pruss (from "Businesswomen"), the general director of "Talisman" insurance company Vitaliy Fedorenkov (from the Insurers` Union), businessmen Pavel Sigal (from "Support of Russia") and Tatiana Zabegina (from "Fatima" crisis center for women), architectures Farida Zabirova (from "Kazan encyclopedia "), Gulsine Tokareva (from the Architectures` Union of the Republic of Tatarstan). And the Journalists` Union of the Republic of Tatarstan wishes to be represented in the Chamber by the councilor of the head of the "Zenit" bank Ilgiz Khairullin.
