Extraordinary situation on the board 9766

The last but one day of the year 2005 brought an unpleasant surprise for the hockey-team "Ak bars". The plane "Yak-42", by which our sportsmen came from Moscow on the 30 of December, had to land blindly in the international airport "Kazan" - the radio communication failed. The board suddenly became deaf. There were 39 people on it - 31 passengers and 8 crewmen.

The cockpit personnel under command of Vladimir Militsyn in managed to land perfectly spite of everything. Every worker in the airport "Kazan" knows about it. But the heads "do not know". In the direction of the joint-stock company "Tatarstan" airlines" and in the navigation service of the airport the questions of our correspondent about an extraordinary situation on the 30 of December were answered also with questions: "And what has happened?" and "How did you know about it?" But if the heads decided to dissemble the incident, so they can forget to give an incentive to the crew for their perfect airmanship...

As the "Evening Kazan" correspondent got to know, the chartered flight № 9766 took off in Moscow late. The official reason of the delay is adverse weather conditions. But the crew managed to make up for lost time and the plane landed at 3.40, almost according the plan. But on the half-way - over the point Sosnovskoe - the connection to earth was lost.

According to the deputy chef of the Administration of the Flight safety Inspection of the Federal transport inspectorate (Rostransnadzor) Valeriy Luchinin, the failure of the radio connection would not take a tragic turn.

- In this case a special procedure is provided, and everything usually ends well, and according to the international flight safety demands this case is concerned to be ordinary and is not to investigate - he told yesterday to our correspondent. - According to the Russian classification the failure of the connection is an incident, which must be investigated. The flight and landing are very heavy for the cockpit personnel under these conditions.

The cockpit personnel managed to withstand this heavy duty owing to their skills and... earth. The dispatching service cleared away an air corridor for the plane and in the airport the pilots oriented themselves on the runway lights. The passengers had suspicions only in the last minutes of the flight: the plane did not land at once, but flew in circles over the airport several times. They began to worry seriously only after the landing, when they saw fire-engines and the whole rescue team of the airport near the runway.

Luchinin says that the radio connection on the planes fails very seldom comparing with the helicopters. He remembered only four accidents, which happened last year. The deputy chef of the Administration of the Flight Safety Inspection does not connect such failures with the age of the Russian planes and their technical conditions (according to Tatarstan mass media, "Tatarstan" airlines bought the last plane - it was exactly "Yak-42" - 15 years ago, and since that time it only repairs old planes, but does not buy new machines).

- The plane, where the communication failed, flies again. It was repaired very quickly, - Valeriy Luchinin let us know, saying good-bye. - We only have to lay out the results of the investigation and send it to all the Russian airlines, so they can learn on our mistakes. We should not hide such incidents, but tell about it in the mass media, yet competent and professional, for not to spread panic.
